Day 2: 8/1/12
The alarm goes off again at 5am. I am much less excited this time, and lay there for another 5 minutes. Then I climb over my youngest little one, (who has at some point in the night crawled into bed with us) and get up to get dressed. This time I am wearing shorts and a tee shirt, because no matter how chilly it's going to feel when I walk out the door, I remember sweating my butt off yesterday in my sweatpants and sweatshirt. Oh yes, and I make sure to put on a bra!
I limp down the stairs...literally. My muscles protest every step. The dog must even feel a little sluggish because when I meantion the word "walk" he just looks at me. So I clip his leash onto him and coax him to his feet, although he really didn't need much coaxing. Once again we are out the door and under way. I still refuse to run off the bat, I don't want the neighbors making fun of my jogging abilities if they happen to be awake at this ungodly hour. But I pick up the pace a few blocks down the road. Today is easier, but I still have to stop and walk, mainly because the dog is dragging. I get all self conscious again and wait until no one is on the street before I will stop or start jogging. I don't know why, but I just do. So you can imagion my horror when I see another jogger in the distance coming straight for me and now I have to keep up this pace because I refuse to stop when someone is watching. They pass and I cut down a side street to start walking. Soon I am home again, taking 20 minutes today to make my loop. I give a silent "WooooHoooo" and vow to eat better today. Baby steps I tell myself...
