Procrastination! Day 4



Day 4: 8/3/12

The alarm goes off at 5am.  What do I do?....I shut it off and reset it to 5:40am.  UGHHHH......way too tired, I tell myself.  But now I can't really sleep anyway and my husband's stupid phone alarm starts going off, so I threaten him with death if he keeps hitting the snooze.  For some reason he actually listens and shuts it off.  Finally I fall back to sleep but 5:40am comes way too quick.

I go down stairs and the dog jumps to his feet ready to assume his role as running partner, (little does he know we're not going, and he's already been fired anyway).  Looking away from his judging little eyes I make a bee-line for the bathroom, instead of getting ready to head out the door.  I keep making excuses for myself.  I'm too tired, I need a day to re cooperate, I'll do a workout DVD later, etc, etc, etc...I am the Queen of excuses and procrastination, especially when it comes to physical activity.  Hence the reason it's taken nearly ten years to start running again.  Believe it or not there was a time, a very LONG time ago, when I could run for 30 minutes with out even getting winded.  Now I can barely breathe after 1/2 a mile....did I mention I'm not even a smoker?

So it looks like all yesterday's talk of "stepping up my game" has gone completely out the window.  Anyway, I will call today one of my "down" days.   Hopefully I will follow through and actually use one of the MANY exercise  DVD's that I like to collect, keep in the cellophane wrappers, and decorate my shelves with.  Or even better...I can multitask and do the "Just Dance for Kids" on the Wii with my 5 year old daughter, that thing always kicks my butt.  So, bonus: exercise + mommy/daughter bonding...yes, I think I will do that.
